*grin* Cooking ideas? (As I figuratively put on my apron, here)....
Scoop the guts out of an onion, but don't peel it. Break an egg in there
and place the onion right on the coals...takes about 15 minutes or so...the
hardest part is juggling it..
Peel an onion (get the idea that I like onions?), cut it in half and again,
take most of the guts out of it. Pack it with hamburg or meat loaf (raw, of
course), put it back together, wrap it in tinfoil and put it in the coals...
Pour cake mix into an orange peeled carefully to leave it whole...put it in
Slice an unpeeled banana lengthwise, stick in some chocolate and
marshmallow...technically you can bake it as it...or wrap in foil...doesn't
Don't do ANYTHING to corn on the cob...just toss it directly on teh coals
and turn as necessary until done. The silk will pretyt much burn out (as I
sit here picking it out of my teeth *sigh*)
Toast bread by placing it directly on the coals and blowing off the
ash...turn it once after a minute.
I tried this the other night...2 slices in the bottom of a brown-paper lunch
bag to cover the bottom. Break an egg in there. Close the top of the bag
and twist it around a stick and hold it over glowing coals. Takes some
patience...the first time I tried it? FLAME ON!!!!The second time was a
little more successful...I took the bag back from the fire and realized that
there was a fire INSIDE it, but the bag was safe. Running for the kitchen
to show my wife (I never realized I was this stupid!!) resulted in ashes ALL
over the kitchen.. *grin* But resulted in more-or-less edible bacon (wiht
all the fat melted away) and a perfectly cooked egg...
Hmmm...let's see...wrap bacon around a stick and toast it.

Subject: Cooking Ideas
Our patrol has month-long skills training in cooking this month culminating
in a campout where we will implement some of the new ideas we have learned.
I'm looking for some neat and/or unusual ideas from the group. For example,
some neat recipes would be great. I remember fudge in a bag for instance
that we did some years ago in another troop. Any good ideas? Thanks.
Yours in Scouting,
ASM Troop 35
