It is a peculiarly European trait to state "awakening and reinforcing the
natural spiritual nature within children" as godless, unless you meant
quite to the contrary that taking the young one into the church of the
outdoors may put an end to his/her godlessness.
In Isaiah there is a passage: "Be still, and know that I am God." A sunrise
service in the wilderness is a wonderful place for a few minutes of
silence, that quote, and more silence. The amazing and overwhelming
intracacy of the world out there is elequent testimony to the Creator and
the Creation. Natural science and the Bible, even Darwin, can be read
together, and need not be opposed one to the other. Unless one believes
that failure to follow to the letter a specific liturgy means damnation.
