Cheryl, Yes I am having the same problem, distinguishing the quoted from
the reply in many cases. If anyone finds the way I have responded here
as difficult, please email me privately with your recommendations.
While I have the floor, I would also like to suggest that if you are
going to use any of the many abbreviations of Scouting in your
postings..FOS..COR..JASM and the like, that you could please write...
FOS(Friends of Scouting)..COR(Chartered Organization
Representative)..JASM(Junior Assistant Scoutmaster). I am sure there are
new Scouters joining us, and Scouters from overseas, that have wondered
what in blazes some of these stand for. Also, the same with the other,
"non-Scout quickies" as I call them, IMHO(In My Humble Opinion) or
BTW(By The Way).
Being a Trainer for many years, I feel we are "talking over" people, by
not being explicit. Yes, it does take a little longer, but my position
is, SCOUTS-L is a forum for everyone. Many of whom are seeking the
wisdom and guidance of those more experienced, or more well-informed
Scouters here. Does this not then take on the aspect of training? I
think it does.
