The news story (blurb would be more accurate as it was on Headline News)
said the average was over $300,000/yr for chief executives working in the
non-profit area. I don't think they listed the head of Boy Scouts and/or
his salary. They did list a few. This can be misleading. Because they
listed the highest paid was a doctor of cardiology working for a major
hospital (not sure if it was teaching or research) and he made in the
millions. There were a couple of others in this range. So, while there are
some who are very highly paid, the vast majority would not be in this range.
And, the ones making the millions adjust the average for those who aren't.
Scouting is like Love; the more you share, the more you have.
