First, thanks to Mike Walton for his concise (for him) explanation of
all the deadlines, and for his kind comments about me and Bruce Cobern.
A couple of minor corrections:
> Note that it will be possible for male Venturers to earn Eagle,
> Silver and Ranger Awards as well as the Quartermaster Award before
> they turn 21 years of age; and for female Venturers to earn Silver,
> Ranger and Quartermaster before they turn 21 years of age.
That should read (My addition in ALL CAPS):
Note that it will be possible for male Venturers to earn Eagle
BEFORE THEY TURN 18 YEARS OLD, AND EARN THE
Silver and Ranger Awards as well as the Quartermaster Award before
they turn 21 years of age; and for female Venturers to earn Silver,
Ranger and Quartermaster before they turn 21 years of age.
Mike also said:
> There are key leadership positions acceptable for Venturers, which
> will be published.
They have been published. On the 1999 Eagle Scout Requirements page
<http://www.usscouts.org/advance/boyscout/bsrank7-99.html>, I have added
information about the requirements for Venturers (and Explorers), which
includes the following:
> The Venturer may fulfill leadership requirements by serving as
> president, vice president, secretary, or treasurer of his crew, or
> as boatswain, boatswain's mate, yeoman, purser, or storekeeper for
> his ship.
