I don't think you understand the responsibilities and sacrifices Jere has to
deal with for what you consider to be an exorbitant salary. He is
responsible for the running of arguably the largest non-profit organization
in the nation, the size of which may rival, if not exceed, the size of
Microsoft and IBM. As such, he is forced to spend long periods of time away
from his family, subsisting on airline and hotel food, sleeping in a
different bed every night, in a different city every night.
Executives within IBM and Microsoft who do this sort of work get paid in
excess of 750k per year...and yet he's making 300k not counting his travel
My opinion has always been to not judge a man until I've walked a mile in
his shoes...I wouldn't want to walk a mile in Jere Radcliffe's shoes,
because to me...300k would hardly be enough to take away the pain of having
to be apart from my family 300 days out of every year. Think to yourself,
Habib...is your outrage founded in concern for the less-privileged families,
or your own jealousy at the amount of money he makes? Ask yourself...would
you have time to enjoy that much money if you were in his position, or would
you be stockpiling it to live off of after you burned out and had to retire
in order to save your own sanity?
A Scout is cheerful, guys...let's try to remember that, shall we?
