This is a particular complaint of mine. There used to be a District level
junior leader training course which was phazed out about 6 or 8 years ago in
favor of the new Troop training.
Now there's just a Troop level training and the week-long Council course.
Now, these are both great programs but I think a mistake was made by
throwing out that District course. Now the burden of training has been put
on the Troop (I know, I know, it belongs there) and too many Troops just do
not do it, or do not do it correctly.
I would love for there to be a District course to expand on what the junior
leaders are learning in their Troops. I think we'd have better trained leaders.
