Yes, you are right regarding alternative MBs for the disabled Scout.
I'd even concede that having a "pudgy or even obese would be Eagle
Scout...hump his buns around..." to get PF MB may not be a bad thing.
However, BSA applies the standards to the Scout with a KNOWN disablity
in a perverse way: BSA's standards read that the Scout must first fail
the requirement before alternative requirements are considered or
If you program failure, while having pre-existing knowledge, that could
be construed, by some, as a form of abuse. If you do it repeatedly,
some may constue it as hazing. I'm sure that is neither your, or the
advancement committee's intent, but it may be the result. It's called
