OK, Rik. The thread was over anyway. But as the person who originally
took your ball and ran with it, I'd like to add one more thing before
tossing it onto the electronic scrap heap.
In your original post, you said she was a stripper, which I took to mean
"one who strips" in the present tense. I felt then and still do that
such an occupation is inappropriate for a Scout leader.
Today, though, your message said she's an ex-stripper, "one who
stripped" in the past tense. That is another matter entirely. I submit
that one who formerly lead an immoral lifestyle and has changed is
exactly the sort of role model I would want as a Scout leader. Such a
person shows the boys that mistakes are not permanent. They can be
rectified and a person's lot in life improved. That person shows the
boys that no matter how low you sink, you can always rise above. This
is a fine lesson for anybody of any age!
