I don't have the official answer, just an anecdote. The Charlotte
Motor Speedway, a big NASCAR venue, has a day where Boy/Cub
Scouts in Mecklenburg County Council (Girl Scouts too???) can
get in free for qualifying at a race if they come wearing their uniforms.
I believe this year the date is the first Saturday in October.
It may or may not be ok, but the Speedway's letter of invitation is
sent to all unit leaders and is available at the council service center.
NASCAR is so big in this area I'm surprised the word hasn't gotten out.
I'm also surprised that I haven't seen any "Earnhart" or "Jeff Gordon"
patrols with a black number "3" or a rainbow "24" as their respective
patrol patches. :-)
