Definitely stick around! The list has a lot of hard Scouting facts and
ideas to help you with. Check out the index for those past ideas and
discussions. But the list also get's great thought provoking discussions.
Hopefully you will never have to deal with some of the problems that provide
these discussions, but if you do there is no greater resource, and in a lot
of areas, the only resource than this list.
The list is extremely educational in other ways. I sometimes learn more
from my response to a post then to the post itself.
When you see an idea you are not interested in, hit the delete key and move
on. But don't drop off the list. You will learn a lot and we need your
input on ideas.

Wow, I just joined this list as a new scoutmaster, and find discussions of
strippers and prostitutes and religious arguments and all kinds of other
nonsense. That's not what I expected the list was all about - certainly
not what Scouts are all about. For those who have been here a while - is
this typical? Or should I stick around in the hope that something
worthwhile and helpful will come through?
