I can't speak for all folks who have been through WB,
and wouldn't presume to try, but I can state that in my council, folks
with beads appear at the forefront on a regular basis.
For myself, I don't have my beads from SR-CS-10, still working my
tickets. But, I know that, even after the regalia is received, that
doesn't end my own steppin' up to the plate. For that matter, if the
beads were never to arrive, I'd still "work my ticket" for years to
come because I believe in what I'm doing and I see its importance for
If actions of those who wear beads in your area are not what you would
have expected, to me that suggests you should consider going through
WB and then lead the way to a new standard in your area. I read your
comments as you beleive there is more to be done, and for this,
someone must lead.
Yeah, there are some folks in any area who are not into WB, or even
the Scouting program, for the boys, but it's a small, small, minority
from my view.
One man may not move a mountain, but one man, with training, can lead
a team to move the mountain.
I will close simply be asking that you consider again being that one
man, for the boys.
