Stove choices are very individual. I strongly favour the whisperlight
line, I have hiked with others who have half a dozen outher favorites.
When Coleman came our with the Peak line, I looked at it and decided
not to buy one because the fule bottles had a large air section, that
is they carried less fuel per bottle. They have been improving the
stoves and I don't know if this is still true. It is also not a
matter of concern for some packers. Coleman makes good quality
equipment and if the design looks good to you it will likely serve well.
The best way to evaluate equipment is to walk a trail with someone who
owns it. If you cannot do that, the second best way may be to get a
copy of Backpacker magazine's equipment guide issue from you local
library and do some comparison shopping.
