Notes and CC:mail are quite often setup to ignore/eat or otherwise discard
attachments (but not always). Ive had numerous customers tell me not to
bother sending files to them via email because they are cc:mail users. I
suspect this is a security issue, not a failure of the product itself.
Not all email programs can handle mime postings/attachments.
Not all email programs *create* mime postings, some in fact have to be told
to do so.
Older versions of some programs may not handle these mime postings, despite
the current version handling them just fine.
I use Eudora and dont have any of these problems. I dont believe Pegasus
(which I use on occasion) has any problem reading these messages either.
Both programs are available in free versions, although when using email at
work, folks are often limited to using what that shop has standardized
In other words, your mileage may vary.
