We had a similar situation when we signed up for Boundary Waters with Northern
Tier. I thought our adult ratios were too high so to try to shake a few of those
slots loose for some boys on the list I sorta hinted that it was required or
strongly suggested by BW's that all adults be trained at least to the SM
Fundamentals levels. I'll be darned but almost every adult went. Our troop had
more adults at one of the district's SMF classes than all the other troops
So we didn't shake many loose but we sure have some of the highest training ratios
now in the council.
