As a follow-up yo my earlier post, I've looked at the Electives also.
After a preliminary scan of the Elective/Arrow Point Trail Sections,
I have found that here, too, there are a number of minor wording
changes in both books, but, in general, there were no MAJOR changes,
except as follows:
WOLF ELECTIVE 10: Native American Lore
Items (d) and (e) were replaced.
WOLF ELECTIVE 21: Computer Fun was renamed COMPUTERS and
Items (b) and (c) were replaced.
BEAR ELECTIVE 12: Nature Crafts
Items (d) and (h) were replaced.
BEAR ELECTIVE 15: Water and Soil Conservation
Item (b) was replaced.
In addition, in the Requirements for the Cub Scout World Conservation
Award, for both Wolf and Bear Cub Scouts, a requirement to "Participate
in a Den or Pack Conservation Project" was added. In the Bear Book, it
also states that this award may be earned only once while a Cub Scout.
As I said earlier, I'll try to get the usscouts.org advancement pages
updated as quickly as possible. The pages can be found at the following
URL's, and when they are changed, I'll indicate on the pages that they
are the Electives found in the 1998 edition of the books.
