I just had to add my $0.02 to the thread about boys "just meeting the minimum
for Eagle." As one who proved he was not good enough to be an Eagle Scout (not
even close!), I do have strong opinions.
First of all, whether a young man completes the requirements when he's 12
years old or on the day before his 18th birthday, the badge looks the same.
That's because he's met the standard, not the minimum. There is no such thing
as minimum requirements. We should applaud any young man who meets the
standard (and we do) and we should not try to belittle his efforts or compare
them to another's.
