Eurofax is the monthly newsletter of the European Region. It is produced by
the European Scout Office and is distributed by fax to all member
associations in the European Scout Region and the Europe Region WAGGGS, and
others. Reproduction of articles without alteration is encouraged but
Eurofax should be acknowledged as the source of the information.
HOW TO SUBSCRIBE NOW TO EUROFAX - IT'S FREE !
Readers with access to the world wide web have been able to read Eurofax in
a number of additional language versions, thanks to the work of volunteer
translators. From this month, if you have an email address, you can receive
Eurofax direct from our new free email subscription service. In
collaboration with Global ScoutNet, the text of each month's Eurofax will
be distributed by email in 6 languages: English, French, German, Italian,
Spanish and Esperanto.
And that's not all! You can now choose to receive either of the official
English or French language versions in their original layout, which you can
open on your own computer and print locally using the popular 'portable
document format' (or 'pdf format') created by Adobe Acrobat. With the
correct 'reader' installed, these documents can be read on virtually all
types of computers and you get a much clearer copy than the version which
is received today by most member associations on their fax machines.
David Bull, Chairman of the European Scout Region, was an early recipient
of the test versions; "Eurofax in pdf format arrived in good shape and is a
great improvement on the previous text only version." Jos=E9 Warletta also
tested the portable document format version; "I had no problems to open the
attached file. It's a good idea to have the Adobe Acrobat version.
To use this new pdf format, you must install a copy of the free software
Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0. You can download this from the world wide web
site of Adobe: http://www.adobe.com/acrobat (You may also find this
software on many of the CDs or diskettes which are distributed with
