This was recently discussed on the list (or perhaps on
FWIW, it is my view that, as long as 1) the MB counselor is registered
with BSA in *a* council (not necessarily in the Scout's council --
out-of-council MB counselors are routinely approved in summer camps, for
instance), and 2) the SM approves the MB counselor selection, doing the
MB over the Internet would be fine.
Others have bemoaned the lack of personal contact, and the possibility
of "cutting corners," but for a MB or two I don't see a problem, and the
novelty of the approach might actually enhance the learning, IMHO.
