It's a question of knowing the rules in advance. I am telling my Troop this
now so a Scout doesn't come to me in may and say "But my handbook says..."
or "But the Eagle worksheet from the Council that you gave me says...".
It's for kids who may have completed 30 or 40 MBs but just don't have the
correct ones for the new requirements.
I see it as the same as a boss saying to an employee: "We're re-writing your
job description; starting next month you'll be responsible for X and Y but
you won't have to worry about Z".
And as soon as I know the new Second Class & First Class requirements I'll
be saying the same sort of things to the boys who just joined. Not so that
they can by with doing the bare minimim but so they know what the rules are.
Not intended as a flame, just as a differing viewpoint.
