Greetings To Everyone!
My thanks to Brian Suddeth and Jim Simmons for reminding me of the need
to introduce myself as a new subscriber, etc.
The name I was baptized with, some 59.5 years ago, is Robert Franklin
Carr. Since that auspicious day I do not remember, I have simplified it
somewhat, Bob Carr is terribly more simple. This was the easy part.
Recollecting Scouting history is something I always found almost
tedious, (I suspect it comes from all those times we have all been asked
to complete a "Scouting History" form),especially since there is a great
deal to remember. I have always been grateful for thousands of pictures
and other memorabilia to come to my aid.
Scouting has been a part of my life since 1947, I began as a Lion Cub in
Melrose, Mass. and yes, I still have the Lion Badge. Webelos, Arrow of
Light, Troop 6 in Brookline, Mass., with one Thomas A. Duncan, a Scot,
like myself, and who, was guided as a boy in Scotland, by a gentleman
who accompanied Baden Powell to Brownsea for that famous experiment of
Boy Scouting we've all heard about. Good Roots!
In the interest of brevity, and not boring the daylights out of you, I
will resort to a chronology of sorts;

I count many friends in Scouting on all levels, and I am delighted to be
among you. I have resources ala boo-koo, manuals for most courses, a few
pow-wow books, enough training aids to fill a barn, most are "outdated"
by BSA standards, but they ARE resources. I will send them along to
anyone who wants them..shoot me an e-mail(email@example.com) tell
me what you are looking for, I will gladly postal mail them to you.
It's been a pleasure...Thanks for Listening!
