Wanted to give everyone who replied an update on our problem.
Finally we got the check-books back from our ex-leader (ACM & Pack
treasurer)......but still don't know if we have any money left. Keep your
fingers crossed that we do. Will find out tomorrow. I tired to find out
today but I'm not authorized since I did not sign the signature card. CC
tried but the computer was down and she then had an out-of-town Dr.
appointment. Hopefully the bank called her and left the details on her
answering machine as requested. Tomorrow we are to close out that account
because even if he is removed from the list of authorized individuals,
somehow he may still gain access. Also we require two signatures on all
checks but were told that doesn't matter, one could still slip through
unknowingly with only one signature, his.
Today he was sent a letter by certified mail from the Pack Committee, that
was OK'D by our CO and Council, stating "he is forbidden to attend all
Scouting functions (except his son's advancements and when he has beed
invited)". From there a paper trail, copy of the letter to DE, DC, COR, CM,
has been left to make sure all bases have been covered.
Last week his son attended a Den Meeting in which the father was not
present. Today a parent that attended remarked how much fun the boy seemed
to have without his father there watching him. That he actually behaved
like a boy should. The mother stayed and everything was fine and the boy
did enjoy the freedom.
I hope none of you ever have to be a part of such an uncomfortable situation
as this has been for our unit. The sad thing is, the man had potential if
he only knew how to control himself.
