Well, I'm catching up on my posts so I hit yours before I hit what you were
flamed about....you're absolutely right, but I think it's more that people
aren't afraid to say anything anymore because they don't have to look the
person in the face when they are throwing flames....*would you have thrown
that flame if you were looking directly at the person?*.....we seem to have
lost some common sense and the reality that when you type it on a screen it
may not come across the way you meant it or thought it out in your head.
Yes, I'm all for freedom of speech (or typing), but, let's be aware that we
are all human, we don't have the same perspective on life that others on the
list do, we DO have a different opinion. We don't put out our opinion to get
attacked about them, we are supposed to be expressing different ideas and
philosophies of scouting AND gleaning knowledge in the process. We shouldn't
be taking anything as a personal attack and we shouldn't be making personal
attacks. I've seen/heard many people leaving lists because of flames
getting out of hand. Maybe we should just remember that we are SCOUTS and
have a law and a promise and a motto that we are supposed to live by and
that includes while we are out in cyber-space.
Certainly not a flame to Carl, but expecting several to come in my own
