<< We buy the Eureka Timberline 4- man tents with one door for about $140
Campmor. They are easy to set-up , waterproof, durable enough for scouts and
light enough that they can be used for backpacking. The comfortably will hold
scouts or 3 adults and can hold 4 in a pinch. >>
For adult use these are fine. I recommend the Outfitter grade for boy use
however, as they are heavier and have, in general more substantial fittings.
I use a regular 2 man Timberline for myself. I have for 5 years of monthly
camping. No problem. Of course I clean it throughly, fold it neatly, use the
zippers carefully, do not put strain on anything but the fly, and dry it
properly. But for the boys I recommend the Outfitter grade, much sturdier,
but at least half again the price.
