Inappropriate songs ?

I checked out the following link for camp songs that was posted on the list
and had a few comments.
Although there are many good songs here, there are also very many that are
inappropriate. I'm sure most of you would agree and recognize which ones
not to use with boys. This however brings to mind a few past experiences we
have had with some songs. many years ago we had a parent complain about
the singing of "God Bless My Underwear" at camp. As Comm. Chairman of our
Pack, I looked into the matter. I actually agree with the parent but never
thought to say anything about it. In my researching the matter, I received
a document from the National office saying the parent was right that the
song was inappropriate for any Scout function. I was informed that no song
that satires a Military or Religious song is to be used. We have since made
this not only our Pack policy but our District's as well. We no longer have
any complaints and we still have plenty of goofy, gross, or funny songs that
the boys love to sing. In looking over the list provided I spotted a number
of songs that might be considered off limits. Just something you might want
to think about when putting your unit song book together.
