Re: Eagle Letters of recommendation

As Chris says, IF YOUR COUNCIL GETS A LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION, *and they are
not REQUIRED to get letters, just to check with the people the Scout puts down
for his references IN SOME WAY*, the letters are not part of what a Scout gets
back after the BOR. This is privileged information and the only thing the
Scout gets back from the board is his Life to Eagle workbook.
If your council does it another way, call their bluff. But as I told someone
about 1975 on the list - if its YOUR KIDS Eagle, you'd be better off coming
back and complaining AFTER he's done "what they've always done because they
always did it that way" instead of causing your kid to get ulcers as you fight
with the Advancement committee or the entire council.
Yup, same class of BSA advancement as Chris took.
HEY! I worked Merit Badge Midway with Ed last summer. He's looking really
good. He says he knows which professionqal should get assigned there next time
