Concerning Kelty Yukon backpacks:
I have bought two for my kids. I think they are a good buy because of their
adjustability and quality. I paid ~$93 for one and got the second on sale from REI for
about $65. If you like the pack but not the price you can find them of sale at a
website http://www.outdooroutlet.com for $69. I have not bought anything from the
Outdoor Outlet so I can't offer an opinion on service.
Another pack of good quality is the JanSport Scout. Also an external frame pack, it
is simular is capacity, fit, adjustability, and price to the Yukon. The Yukon is a
divided bag toploader and the Scout is a divided bag panelloader. Two on-line suppliers
I seen with the JanSport Scout are:
I personally think these are two of the best buys for Scouts. There are cheaper packs
at discount stores, but your child will get a better fit and longer use from these two.
