I agree. In my council (Blue Ridge Mtns.), many camp staffers and OA
officers develop close relationships with professionals. In fact, a large
number of professionals in our council were Scouts right before they were
I think it is always a good idea to invite the DE or other profs, but to me,
their obligation to attend is the same as any invited guest.
PS--There are many professionals who feel like they never really have a day
