My troop doesn't have a set (or sit) policy on chairs at camp, but I
did hear of a pretty neat one from one of my fellow SMF patrol members

Folding chairs are the province of the Scoutmaster and Eagle scouts
ONLY. Each patrol is to provide a folding chair in their patrol
campsite, (when appropriate, as in car camping) but it may only be
used by the Scoutmaster or an Eagle scout during a visit. All other
scouts and adult leaders may use a 3-legged fold-up stool. Or a rock.
Or a log. Anything except a folding chair.
Rank DOES have its privileges!
Personally, I think this is a great idea, and if I am ever in a
position to implement it, it is going to happen.
