The Hagerstown (MD) Herald Mail Newspaper ran a special insert today (6/12/98)
in honor of the Mason Dixon Council's Camp Sinoquipe's 50th anniversary.
There were memories of former campers, etc.
Washington County Circuit Judge Frederick C. Wright III is the honorary
chairman of the event; included in the insert were these comments by the
"Wright, who was never a Scout as a boy, has been heavily involved with
the organization since Scouting officials approached him about 30 years ago
when he was a state legislator."
"He said his experience on the bench has convinced him of the benefits
" 'I've used my influence to get some children into the Scout program,'
he said. 'I guess I ran my own survey...I just saw in my own mind that the
Scout program obviously was working as far as building character.' "
"Wright said only a handful of Scouts have ever been in trouble in his
courtroom over the years."
Thanks to Judge Wright and the Herald Mail for thier positive works.
