Youre reasonable drive may not be the same as mine<g>, however...
There is excellent rafting in east TN, WVa and Va. I dont recall where the
Olympic kayaking was done (no, thats not the water you want<g>), but there
has to be some decent water near there.
Id pick a distance first, then do a web search from there for the area.
My wife and I took a group of 10 teenagers (church youth) to CO last summer
and found a ton of info on places out here. FYI, if anyone is going rafting
on the Arkansas in Colorado, Noah's Ark is highly recommended both
professional float guide-wise and spirit of scouting wise. Excellent
outfitter. They are in Buena Vista. We'd go back in a minute.
