I strongly oppose rules like this because I've seen too many kids & families
torn by the "which do I do" dilema. I'd sure like every kid (& parents) to
attend every meeting & activity but I realize that there are too many
potential conflicts (family, church, school, sports, etc.). This sort of
thing only drives away those who can't meet those standards.
As to what do I think of your moving? Fine. That's why I like it when
there's more than one unit to choose from--so there's an alternative to
dropping out entirely. Competition is good.

A few of us were just talking about this yesterday at camp (OA weekend).
One of our fathers had just heard this about our meetings (he was in a car
with our ASPL, one PL, the QM & the Troop Guide). So at the next TLC I'm
going to talk to them about this. If even they think some of the meetings
are dull what do they intend to do about it?
'Cause guess what? Not only do I not plan the meetings, I often don't even
sit in on their meetings--I'm in the room but at another table working with
I'll give them ideas. I'll give them Program Helps. I'll give them advice.
I'll give them encouragement. But I will not give them meetings that I've
planned for them.
