Washing machine for summer camp

We use a five gallon bucket with lid. Cut the latching ring on the lid so
that there are just four "tabs"....this makes it easy to get on and off.
Drill a one inch hole in the center of the lid. Buy a new stool plunger
and insert handle through hole. The only trick is using cold water
detergent AND using only about two teaspoons of soap. The trick is getting
the soap out of hand washed clothes. Actually, we're going to try liquid
detergent this year. Oh yeah, be sure the soap is biodegradeable.
The kids get a kick out of using it.
