BSA may not encourage banks here, but we do. If we dont have one, we have
some folks who will pitch in and buy a uniform. Failing that, our CO
(created solely for Scouting support of 1 pack, 1 troop, 1 GSA group and 1
post) has grant money that our fundraising chairman busted her hump to get
for that very reason.
We send several low-income scouts to camps and provide uniforms annually.
Dont depend on the Council or National to handle that stuff, except as a
FWIW, we dont *require* BSA blues, mostly for financial reasons, though the
wear and tear issue is valid.
