About the simplest I know of is the bucket with a plunger (new of course
;-) This has been used at National Jamboree for years.
Get a large (paint, plaster, bird seed or ???) bucket with lid. Cut
hole in center of lid large enough for plunger handle to move through.
Slide plunger handle through lid with working end in bucket. When ready
to wash fill with water and soap, insert item to be washed, snap on lid
and start plunging. The dirtier the item the more work involved. Empty
water when gets dirty or when ready to rinse. Make sure to wring out as
much soapy water as possible before rinse cycle or rinse water will get
