I agree with you, LET HIM DO HIS BEST AND
On many occasions in life, folks much older and wiser
than your young man will go forward with mates
through graduation ceremonies prior to all
requirements being done. Happens in High School,
College, Grad Schools on a regular basis. You
attend ceremony with class, but have some work left
to complete. Happens in business. Just one example:
my agency hires an out of state lawyer, not licensed
in OK at hire date. New employee has X amount of
time to get licensed but is on staff and payroll
with work supervised and signed off by others.
We are here for the boys so do what is best for the
boy. He will remember you forever and hopefully
will do his best for another boy in the future and
for himself in the interim. Plus, IMHO, you may
eliminate a sense of lowered self-esteem for him.
Anyway, that's my nickle's (far too long to call it 2 cents) worth
