the most important thing to worry about food handling at home and in the
woods is to make sure that the scouts wash their hands prior to any food
handling. If this is done then most forms of disease (ie botulism and
salmonella) will be kepted to a minimum.
as for the rest of the stuff ..... make sure all food is cooked well, and
water that is from a stream that is to be drank is either purified with
tablets, or boiled for 15 - 20 minutes (and I mean boiled). That will
kill just about everything you have to worry about in the water process.
