The internet may be a good way to do research for merit badges but with
all the concern about listing scouts' names on web sites, etc., why would
anyone expect that I would refer a scout to a "nice" person who offers
to help. I believe the reason for registering merit badge counselors is
to assure that we know who they are. If Craig Brown were registered as
a counselor in my council, I'd be glad to refer scouts to hime for
counseling. On the other hand, who is that masked man?
Craig, please don't take offense, but what better way to make contact
with young people than to offer to help them earn a merit badge?
Unless I know the person to whom I am referring a scout, I'm not going to
