This is something I am trying out to see how well it works over the
internet... A lot of genealogy leg-work can be accomplished using the
internet, and I thought it would be a fun way to earn a merit badge since
your already there (mileage may vary!)... I currently have one Scout in
Ohio who has already started.
I am registered with:
Great Smoky Mountain Council
Attn: Marjorie the Registrar
6440 Papermill Rd
Knoxville TN 37919
Question? Is there a difference in a Scout attending an out of Council
summer camp and earning a merit badge there... vs. earning it from a MB
counselor out of Council? I got the go ahead from the professionals at
GSMC... and I assume it's like many other things in Scouting... it's a
gray area, left up to interpretation (unless there is a rule or regulation
that I am unaware of).
Since this is a pilot program for me... I am open to comments, suggestions,
and criticism (no flaming).
