cub scout grad ceremonies

One thing we did last year in June, and the boys really loved it: The Cub
Scout Transmogrifier. For this, you need to shop around for a refridgerator
box, my husband got one from an appliance dealer, try to secure it well in
advance, there were a lot of calls, and a lot of running around to dig one up.
You can paint it or decorate it as you wish. You need an adult volunteer,
someone who is kind of rowdy, and very fun to make this work. Our man last
year was one of those rough and tumble kind of guys, like everyone's favorite
teasing uncle. He was inside the box, and the graduating boys lined up
outside. One at a time, they entered the box. There was much struggling,
scuffling, shouting to be heard from outside the box. And finally, the boy
kind of stumbled, or in some cases, seemed to fly out, looking rather
disheveled, but with a brand new neckerchief of his new rank around his neck.
For example, outgoing Tigers came out with the wolf neckerchief, outgoing
wolves came out with the bear neckerchief, etc. All the kids and parents got
sa big kick out of the whole thing. Hope this helps you!
