Dear Joyce & Jerry,
Well said. I have always heard the following:
A BSA Professional gets paid for giving his time for his scouting activities. **
A BSA Volunteer gives his time freely for his scouting activities.
A BSA Scouter pays to give his time freely for his scouting activities.
Thank you for being Scouters!
** I fully recognize those Professionals who give their time and money to
scouting activities. There is nothing that says you can't be a member of all
three groups! *wink*
P.S. Remember to see your tax accountant about documentation for charitable
deductions for your scouting activities. If the government gives us a tax break,
we would be foolish not to take it. It will leave us with more money to spend on
