Here's a question for you...ready?
How many Advancement Chairmen are running into problems with Eagle
Projects like tree trimming, general yard work, etc. My understanding
is...and please don't read this as a flame...that there has been some
literature within the LDS church that states projects similar to these
are permitted. I have not seen the articles, but it's caused some
problems here. Evidently, these "approved" projects were coordinated
with the BSA National Office, but they contradict some information on
exactly what a service project should consist of. Some projects we've
seen come through: trimming tree branches away from power lines (which
the electric company already does), and church/school yard work. These
types of projects are getting turned down, but the leaders are coming to
us saying that they are legitimate.
Have these "contradictions" caused any heartache in any of your
Thanks for the input...
