I have reviewd the edition of my Troop Committee booklet and could not find
any specific req. that Troop Commitee members be uniformed. Having said that I
am all most a full fledged card carrying "Uniform Police" member! I would love
to see my troop in full uniform always. However living in the real world or
the world of today we don't meet that standard and I doubt many do........and
ususally far from it. I too am from the same district as the SM posting this
message and in fact are in the next town to his troop.
I can see no reason to force someone or create an ugly situation within a
troop or trainng committee with adults contemplating Scoutmaster Funtamentals
training. This isn't Wood Badge! I say come on to the training, if they ask
then suggest a uniform or have them borrow one. The overiding concern is
getting them to the training not enforcing a strict uniform policy with them!
Once you get them to the training the you can provide GENTLE persuasion.
