I have a Question concerning Scouting and Tax Deductions .
Everyone keeps telling me to keep up with all my milage"boy was I surprized
when my ledger recorded 7,403 miles for the 1997 Year".
And to also keep track of my pesonal Scouting expenses "such as
Troop,Exploring Post & O.A.dues,they also mentioned that you could get credit
for long distant phone calls, and even some credit for Camporee Fees and food.
My question is what can I use for Deductions "That is Scouting related" and
what is the best way to present it to the IRS or my accountant . Say like all
my miles can I or is it acceptable to just keep track of the date miles and
function in a ledger with a Troop or Council calander to provide proof.
And how about other expenses ,will a cancel check work,Phone calls "will just
showing all my old phone bills work", and what about uniforms camping
equipment and other things such as postage , ink paper and other supplies.
Any info on theses question will be ever so appreciated you can E-Mail me
privatly with any responce .
And to those who may have already answerd or asked these questions before
thank you for allowing me to post them again
