As I noted last week, unfortunately it is not unnamed, but named
Connecticut Yankee Council
At least that is what is in the "consolidation doucment" that the CORs approved.
While it is not named *after* the failed nuclear reacter in Haddam CT, it
shares a name with this unit which has been big news all year in
Connecticut. The sensibility of some of the "higher ups" among the
volunteers (who don't wear the patch) and the higher up paid staff is
incredible to me! When this name was floated to the volunteers we all had
the same reaction and they STILL chose it!!
[BTW, I love our "new" DE -- he has been a professional scouter for 7-8
months. He will be successful . . . why? because his is ALSO a Scoutmaster.
He knows the program from our side. He also brings real world experience
(retail for 25 years, including owning a store).]
CC, Troop 68 Nutmeg District, Fairfield County Council (for another 9 days,
and unfortunately counting)
