This is excellent advice. Another prudent action is to make sure the
Treasurer prepares and reviews financial reports, including a bank
reconciliation, with the unit committee on a monthly basis.
There are several software packages that will help in automating unit
financial records, including reports which may be reviewed by the unit
committee. PackLedger and TroopLedger (see page 13 of the November-
December issue of Scouting magazine) are specifically geared to a
Scouting environment. Quicken and Microsoft Money are also excellent
for use in tracking financial records of Scouting units.
