Many of you have remembered the Webelos in my pack, Gordon who was diagnosed
with a cancerous brain tumor.
Gordon (and family) are doing amazingly well.
He had his 15 seconds of fame this past Saturday riding in the Adolphus
Christmas parade in an antique car. One of the passengers was Airbud, the
dog from the movie. Airbud had to have one of his legs amputated due to
He was pulling "Airbud" fur off while waiting for our city's Christmas
parade. Of course the boys told him to keep the fur, it was a movie star's!
We had to wait 3 hours before the parade started. Gordon's family came about
one hour ahead of time (due to the other parade). I had two den chiefs and
another Boy Scout helping to maintain order with my pack for those hours.
They did a great job! I also know that the two den chiefs, (my son and
his best friend) have decided that they do not want to have children after
keeping the kids occupied during this time frame.
Of course, they *are* helping with the pack's Space Derby this Saturday!!
