1. We do not encourage refreshments during troop meetings. Some Scouts,
mostly the younger boys, will bring refreshments on their birthday and
we allow that. We discourage the drinking of anything other than water
during troop meetings (and on campouts). This provides five to ten more
minutes of program time during the meeting and cuts down on clean up
time after the meeting.
2. We have the boys bring refreshments for a COH. They are being
honored, but they have also invited guests. The troop , that is the
Scouts, are responsible to their guests. We try to encourage the troop
to allow their guests to pass by the refreshment table first, but are
most often thwarted by the parent guests who are used to feeding their
children first. Oh, well the best laid plans ... :)
