food is an always popular item for Scouts. we have a small troop (10
Scouts, 6? Varsity age boys, don't know where the Explorers are right now).
how do you handle refreshments for the following:?
1. regular troop meetings; do you do anything? have toyed with the
idea of preparing stuff for the boys to try from the trail foods category
(anything from snacks to soups to different meals) so they might become
acquainted with something besides Top Ramen Noodles and instant oatmeal!
maybe assign this out to different patrols (we have two), or specific boys,
and have the cooks ovedr for a session to teach them how to prepare the
item (sacrifice?) for the meeting, or just do it myself?
2. Court of honor. am getting a little tired of bringing the
refreshments myself, even tho we only have 1/4ly COH. options
a. grumble and eat some myself.
b. ask different parents to do this.
c. have the boys do it? I shy away from this since it is
their COH and they are being recognized.
all thoughts are welcome. Thank you.
