I would like to thank all that responded to my request concerning the
Woodbadge Beading Ceremony. I have forwarded the information.
To summarize, the ceremony is really up to the individual receiving the
award. The district advancement chairman is responsible for making sure
the individual receives the award. The individual receiving thee award
determines the manner of the presentation, which can be a simple as here it
is or an elaborate ceremony. From the responses I received, the elaborate
ceremony is pushed by the advancement chairman to get others to take the
Woodbadge course. The advancement chair is most likely also Woodbadge
trained or even on the course staff. This has an influence.
When I asked the question to the group, I only knew of one individual that
wanted a simple just hand me the award. Since then I found out that there
was another. Both have agreed to have a small ceremony (very small) at
their next troop court of honor. It just so happens both are involved with
the same troop.
Again, thanks to all who replied.
